XIn close collaboration with the Musée du Louvre, Vacheron Constantin presents a new series of watches in its Métiers d’Art collection dedicated to the great civilisations of Antiquity.(Vacheron Constantin)
XThe carved gold applique reproducing this Buste d’Auguste offers a striking sight in which the drape of the cape accompanying the breast plate, secured by a fibula, echoes the curling locks held by the oak crown.(Vacheron Constantin)
XThis era is represented by the peerless masterpiece of Hellenistic sculpture, the Victoire de Samothrace. The drapery of the statue represented a major difficulty for the engraver in charge of reproducing all its subtleties.
The centre of the main dial is enamelled in brown, a colour that is very difficult to achieve and required a mixture of rare enamels that are indeed no longer produced as well as six firings in the kiln.(Vacheron Constantin)
XFor the engraver of the carved gold applique representing the head of the sphinx, one of the difficulties lay in rendering the large false beard within such a small space.(Vacheron Constantin)
XAn ode to the adventurers of the sky, this model tells the story of one of the first flights made in France on a hot-air balloon, in 1783.(Vacheron Constantin)
XThe Qilin belongs to the pantheon of figures populating Asian mythology, and it only appears during periods of peace and prosperity. In the Chinese tradition, this fantastic creature reigns over furry animals, just as the Phoenix reigns over feathered animals, the Dragon over animals with scales and the Turtle over those with a shell. Often depicted as a duo – Qi meaning the male and Lin, the female – its appearance betokens a happy omen. The mythical creature is a combination of different animals, and every part of it is a symbol of auspices and beauty in the ancient society.(Vacheron Constantin)
XFor example, a body of the deer stands for power, the skin of fish stands for affluence, a tail of the ox stands for devotion, etc. Qilin’s benevolence and gentleness are among its greatest virtues. So much so that it does not move across any living creature, including plants, for fear of damaging it, generally preferring to travel on water or clouds.(Vacheron Constantin)
XFor this reason, the two Qilin engraved on the dial of the Traditionnelle Tourbillon appear on a bed of lucky clouds, a traditional motif adorning ancient Asian artefacts. As a final detail, the two Qilin respectively stand one of their hooves on one traditional Chinese item. The Qi (male) on the globe, a symbol of authority and prosperity; and Lin (female) on an ingot, a harbinger of good fortune.(Vacheron Constantin)
XInspired by Nicolaus Copernicus and the history of great astronomical discoveries, this watch reinterprets the astronomer’s charts on a hand-painted dial, framed by sapphire glass.(Vacheron Constantin)

XInspired by the history of great astronomical discoveries, this dial boasts a baroque-inspired aesthetic, hand- engraved and showing off the 12 signs of the zodiac intertwining on a white gold disc.(Vacheron Constantin)
XThe sea route taken by its crew is finely traced in red enamel on the dial, each detail of which features a very faithful representation of the Miller atlas map. The eye will stop particularly on one of the ships of the fleet of Vasco da Gama, in the center of the dial, all sails out in a stormy sea. Or around the circumference of the wind rose and the continents enhanced with gold-coloured enamel powder. (Vacheron Constantin)
XThis Armillary model uses an interesting juxtaposition of classic and contemporary horology on display when combined with the more traditional diamond pallets. The watch is further highlighted through a hand-engraved serpent that slinks around the outside of the red gold case.(Vacheron Constantin)

Hundreds of individual pieces of black-lip mother of pearl were cut into diamond shapes then hand-sorted and arranged according to how each reflects the light. The resulting mosaic inlay oscillates between light and dark with movement.(Urwerk)

XThe “Carpe Diem” watch is a masterpiece of horological art, Konstantin Chaykin’s reflection on the essence of time. The result of this reflection is Chaykin’s invention of a new genre of allegorical watch, in which the watch is not just decorated with attributes of allegorical still-life pieces of the old Dutch masters of the 17th Century, from which this genre originated, but such elements are realised in the watch itself as mechanical functions. The father of time, the oldest essence of the universe, was thought of by the ancient Greeks as the god of Chaos, also called Chronos. During the Hellenistic period ‘time’ was associated with the god Cronus, represented as a grey-haired man carrying a scythe, which he had once used to castrate his father, Uranus.(Konstantin Chaykin)
XThe transparent current-time indicator of the “Levitas Jazz Piece Unique” model, invented by Konstantin Chaykin and of record breaking size in the category of “mysterious” mechanical watches, is framed by a sculptured case made of 18-carat white, yellow and rose gold as a musical fantasy of the artist and the jeweller. The warm, soulful world of jazz music is reflected in every element of the watch design. It breathes life into the case adorned with the keys of a "tired piano”, the strings of a double bass, and a mother-of-pearl drumskin, hidden in the outlines of the asymmetrical case, in the winding crown, in the lugs, and of course in the dial, which is made in the form of an old gramophone record.(Konstantin Chaykin)
XThe case-back of the Monoface model naturally offers itself as a canvas for artistic expression, inviting the artisans of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Métiers Rares™ atelier to exhibit their exceptional skills in the decorative crafts and jewellery techniques. The Reverso One is now home of two exotic flowers: birds of paradise and hibiscus expressed as three limited edition of 10 pieces each. Featuring tropical flowers, these exceptional watches are objects of rare beauty. Combining the skills of gold-leaf paillonnage, enamelling and gem-setting, each of these masterpieces requires hundreds of hours of meticulous work.(Jaeger-LeCoultre)
XReverso is inextricably linked to the Art Deco movement that emerged in the 1930s (echoing the birth of Reverso in 1931) and these three limited-edition timepieces celebrate a particular style: Tropical Art Deco. The colourful tropical patterns cover the case-backs and wrap around the case sides to frame the white mother-of-pearl dials. For a jewellery look, grain-set diamonds decorate the gadroons and lugs and the winding crown is adorned with a reverse-set diamond.(Jaeger-LeCoultre)
XThe designs give full rein to the artistry and diverse skills of the Métiers Rares™ atelier, with artisans collaborating in an orchestrated process over the course of many weeks and months. An impressive illusion of depth and volume emanates from these creations using the Grand Feu Champlevé enamelling – the gold surface of the case-back is hollowed out to from the outline of the pattern, resulting in a fine gold line contouring each element of the design as well as gem-setting techniques.(Jaeger-LeCoultre)
XAn exceptional movement merits an exceptional habillage and the new Master Hybris Artistica Galaxia and Master Hybris Artistica Atomium bring fresh artistic expression to this marriage of complications. Hand-decorated by the artisans in the Métiers Rares® atelier of the Manufacture, the multiple-level dial amplifies the beauty of the celestial theme while also showcasing the Cosmotourbillon. The “Atomium” structure takes its name from the delicate filigree that forms the outer section of the dome, its shape echoing the lines that link the stars to form constellations. Framed within this, on the domed celestial disc, midnight-blue grisaille enamel and a transferred star map amplify the visual connection to the cosmos.(Jaeger-LeCoultre)
XA mysterious and romantic expression of “The Stellar Odyssey” – the 2022 theme of the Maison – the superb Rendez-Vous Dazzling Shooting Star introduces, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s first complication capable of expressing a phenomenon as fascinating as it is unpredictable: shooting stars. Equipped with the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 734, this watch literally comes to life on the wrist of its owner who, simply by moving, activates the complication. On the blue aventurine dial, the shooting star appears randomly, as if by magic, four to six times per hour, trailing a vision of beauty in its wake. The secret of this complication is hidden in the center of the spangled dial surrounded by diamonds. Here, three superimposed discs make the shooting star appear and disappear. The spectacle is so beautiful, the wearer can even invoke the shooting star at whim by turning the crown several times.(Jaeger-LeCoultre)
XHybris Artistica epitomises the inventive spirit so dear to Jaeger-LeCoultre, and now two outstanding new interpretations join the ranks of this exceptional collection. Taking the art of watchmaking to new heights of expression, Hybris Artistica mystérieuse comprises three one-of-a-kind ladies’ models and a men’s model available in a limited edition of five. These exceptional timepieces have a shared secret. They indicate the hour and minute with rare accuracy – but without hands. Here, the mysteries of time have met their match. Time is drawn into the dance of a suspended orbital flying tourbillon within a finely worked dial. The hour can be read from the tourbillon’s position on the dial, while the flange disc shows the passing minutes. Hybris Artistica mystérieuse is no exception to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s rule of creative and mechanical perfection. At the heart of these remarkable timepieces beats the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 941, entirely designed and hand-assembled within the walls of the Manufacture. In its dazzling case, this made-to-measure movement forms the rhythmic backdrop for a new orbital flying tourbillon, a new oscillating weight, and a new carriage of a novel shape, as well as many other delights to be unveiled at the 2017 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie.(Jaeger-LeCoultre)
XThis High Jewelry tourbillon is inspired by the swirling structure of the spiral present naturally in many organic forms around us. It is the expression of what we call the “golden ratio” or the “divine proportion”. This eruption of diamonds, formed by the 14 arcs emanating from the tourbillon located at 6 o'clock, allows multiple interpretations according to each person's mind. A vortex evocative of the Milky Way and myriad galaxies, it can also suggest a sea whirlpool, a tornado or the spiral patterns generated by the growth of certain sea creatures, plants, trees or animals.(Richard Mille)
XAs every year in Mexico on the Day of the Dead, the Cempasúchil blossom sings the joy of an enduring celebration. This timekeeper is the outcome of a three-way dialogue: A conversation that spans two eras, between two exceptional art engravers. The first is José Guadalupe Posada, the legendary Mexican engraver and chisel virtuoso who made the dead dance at the end of the 19th century. His work is interpreted with the contemporary talent of Swiss Art engraver Michèle Rothen, working in close concert with Denis Flageollet, master watchmaker and founder of De Bethune.(De Bethune)
XWith DW5 Armilia, De Bethune has created a fascinating work that stands as an immutable marker on the frontier between the world of art and that of watchmaking. The watch testifies to a vision of unbridled creativity, anchored in a profound understanding and respect for the great master watchmakers of the past whose work it transcends and magnifies.(De Bethune)
